Year 10 Sport Coaching and Year 11 Fitness students at Gilroy Catholic College recently completed the REVIVA First Aid course as part of their VET courses. The hands-on training equipped students with essential life-saving skills, including CPR, injury management, and emergency response procedures. This valuable certification not only enhances their understanding of health and safety in sporting and fitness environments but also prepares them for real-world scenarios where quick thinking and action can make a difference.

Last Friday, Gilroy Catholic College proudly supported Jersey Day, helping to raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation. Our College community added their favourite sporting jerseys to their school uniform, creating a colourful display of team spirit while supporting an important message. Jersey Day is inspired by the story of Nathan Gremmo and encourages families to start a conversation about organ and tissue donation and make their wishes known. MATHS IN ACTION | INQUISITIVE MINDS Our Year 7 and Year 9 students recently swapped routine equations for problems, patterns, pictures and puzzles during an exciting Inquisitive Minds workshop! Students were challenged to think outside the box, explore different problem-solving strategies and put their mathematical thinking into action. A highlight was the hands-on challenge, where students worked in pairs to solve as many problems as possible. The room was buzzing with ideas as students collaborated, communicated and persevered through each new challenge. Congratulations to our prize winners and to everyone who embraced the day with such enthusiasm!
