Congratulations to Penny (Year 7), Evie (Year 9) and Bonnie (Year 9), who proudly represented Australia at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in Phoenix, Arizona. Competing against elite dancers from more than 50 countries, their Sploove JV Megacrew placed an outstanding 6th in the world. Penny’s Junior Crew, Sploovers, also achieved an incredible 9th place in their first year together. A fantastic result reflecting months of dedication and hard work. Well done, Penny, Evie and Bonnie!

Service, compassion and generosity were put into action on Monday as students from our Mary MacKillop FIAT Awards Program spent the day volunteering at Foodbank. Working together in the warehouse, our students helped prepare more than 1,260 Christmas hampers for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. Their efforts saw an extraordinary 17,388 kg of food packed — the equivalent of 31,298 meals for people in need. Our ongoing partnership with Foodbank, which began in 2024, continues to make a remarkable impact. Since then, Gilroy students have helped pack an incredible 129,181 kg of food, equivalent to 232,526 meals. We are incredibly proud of the way our students embraced the opportunity to serve others with enthusiasm, compassion and generosity. Their actions are a wonderful example of our College values in action and the spirit of Mary MacKillop’s call to “never see a need without doing something about it.” A fantastic effort from everyone involved! 💙💛 #GilroyCatholicCollege #MissionInAction #Foodbank #FIATAwards #MaryMacKillop #Service #Community

Recently, Gilroy Catholic College students visited Mary MacKillop Place, where they had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the life, legacy and enduring influence of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Throughout the day, students participated in workshops, guided tours and prayer, explored the historical museum, and spoke with the Sisters about Mary MacKillop’s remarkable life of faith and service. The experience brought Mary MacKillop’s story to life, allowing students to reflect on the values she embodied and the lasting impact she continues to have today. It was a meaningful opportunity to walk in the footsteps of our College Patron and reflect on her powerful example of compassion, courage and responding to the needs of others. #GilroyCatholicCollege #MaryMacKillop #WalkingWithMaryMacKillop #FaithInAction #CatholicEducation

YEAR 12 2026 | FINAL ASSEMBLY Today was a significant and emotional milestone for our Year 12 students — a day filled with excitement for what lies ahead, but also some sadness as an important chapter comes to a close. In her Final Assembly address, Ms Merryweather reflected on the courage, growth and leadership the Class of 2026 has demonstrated throughout their six years at Gilroy. Through their compassion, service and commitment to others, they have led by example and made a lasting contribution to our College community. We are incredibly proud of the faith-filled, values-driven young adults they have become. Mr Phillips, Year 12 Leader of Learning, reflected "Cardinal John Henry Newman reminds us, “To grow is to change.” Moving forward often means saying farewell to one stage of life so that another can begin. and each Year 12 student knows at the deepest part of their being, that unless they part from one place and stage in their lives, they cannot begin another." Year 12, thank you for all you have given to Gilroy. We wish you every success for the HSC and the exciting chapter ahead. May God bless and keep you always. 💙💛
