🎉 On behalf of the Gilroy community, we would like to celebrate the achievement of Year 10 student; Matthew Engesser. For his recognition in exceptional sporting achievements particularly in Cross Country & Triathlon. 🎉 Last night Matthew Engesser not only won the Blues award and Bar award, but also, the prestigious major award the 'Vince Villa Trophy'! 🏆🥇 This is the highest sporting award a student can achieve in NSW Catholic schools. To put it into perspective, some prominent high profile professional athletes did not achieve this award despite going through the NSWCCC system. Matthew represented himself, his family and his school with pride! #teamgilroy #bettertogether 🎉🎉Well done Matthew! 🎉🎉

The College would like to congratulate our Year 10 and Year 11 students who have this week participated in the 2023 Microsoft Work Experience and Skills Program. Delivered over the course of a week, students have immersed themselves in Prodigy Learning's 'Coding in Minecraft' credentialing program to qualify for their beginner, intermediate, or advanced certificate (some students have gained all three!). The combination of developing new skills as well as having the opportunity to hear first-hand from leading experts has given our students great insight into what a career and further study in the tech industry could look like for them in the future. Our special thanks go to #Microsoft, #NSWDOE, and #ProdigyLearning for this incredible partnership with schools across NSW. We are looking forward to training more students in 2024! #teamgilroy #bettertogether

'Live a Story Worth Telling' was the theme of the day and we certainly met some incredible Navy service men and women who lived up to this motto during the recent Navy Life X Day. We were excited to take 22 of our amazing Gilroy students along to visit the Navy Life Expo this week and were treated as special guests on board the #HMASAdelaide for lunch and a personal ship tour by current serving Navy personnel. Our students got a real taste of what it is like to be a serving member of the Australian Defence Force and we have come away with a fabulous once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect their schooling with future pathways. We are so thankful to the Royal Australian Navy for this extraordinary experience. #AusNavy #teamgilroy #bettertogether

Random acts of kindness may be celebrated on the 24th of February in Australia, but at any moment you can share your gratitude and appreciation through actions of care and kindness! Take this as a reminder to reach out to a friend, colleague and family member or anyone in your community, who has done or continues to do things you may take for granted! #bettertogether #teamgilroy
