Year 9 Commerce students hosted the Gilroy Catholic College annual Market Day.
As part of their Commerce assessment task, students are given the opportunity to run their own mini-businesses with profits given to the St Vincent De Paul Society. The students have put a lot of time and effort into conducting market research, developing a product and perfecting their business plans. Congratulations to all the Commerce students for all their effort, team work and positive attitude!

Tuesday the 27th of February, Gilroy Catholic College opened its doors to the wider community, family and friends. The buzzing energy and excitement of future students was evidenced, as the youthful and optimistic students of tomorrow were able to explore the faculties and facilities offered at Gilroy. It was incredibly heartwarming to see familiar faces and past students who came back to reminisce about their time at Gilroy. A huge thanks goes to the passionate students who volunteered their afternoon to usher families and provide insight to life at the College. Additionally, a massive thank you to all of the Gilroy students who contributed to this community event, from incredible music performances, delicious cupcakes from our Hospitality crew, photographers, presenters and student leaders! Yesterday we were given the opportunity to attend the Lifted Leaders Live event, where we learnt more about how we can practically apply our faith within our school community. We left with much knowledge on how to grow the presence of the Holy Spirit within Gilroy Catholic College and received some advice from Bishop Vincent on how we can effectively do this. ‼️ 🎉OPEN EVENING TONIGHT FROM 4PM TO 7PM 🎉‼️ ☂️☔ The weather forecast predicts a chance of a light shower in the afternoon. We recommend guests bring an umbrella or wet weather gear as a small portion of the tour is not undercover. 🎒 Enrolment packs will be available for collection at the College Open Evening or can be downloaded via the College Website. Congratulations to Samuel Waring & Matthew Engesser who competed at the NSW All Schools Triathlon. This year's event was challenging because the swim had to be changed to a run, due to water quality at Penrith International Regatta Centre, making it a Duathlon. Matthew came 1st in the Paratriathlon & 12th overall in the Senior Male event. Samuel came 3rd in the Senior Male event and qualified for the Nationals. #bettertogether #teamgilroy

Today the Year 11 and Year 12 students celebrated Wellbeing Week by getting active during their break times playing volleyball, having a turn at soccer juggling, giving their best guess at the lolly guessing competition and some students engaged with sensory play with bubble wrap all while grooving along to some cheerful music. This was a fantastic way for students to enjoy break time friends, relaxing and getting active! Happy Wellbeing Week to our hardworking senior students!😁 #teamgilroy #bettergilroy
